Our host Steve Class found out about Patryk via Instagram, and his hunch that this kid (respectfully) is onto something bears out in an engaging conversation about how Patryk bought his first cabin in Joshua Tree and then went on to buy up other property management companies – all very, very quickly.
There are lessons aplenty about what it means to give back, who to hire as you scale, and what criteria to consider when valuing a business that you intend to buy.
And while Patryk is giving these owners an easy exit by committing to preserve the legacies of the businesses they have grown, he is quietly creating his own legacy with a savvy, 'natural born entrepreneur' approach. Please join us.
"These days, I don't let opportunities slip. I take 'em on headfirst." ~ Patryk Swietek
In This Episode:
- Knowing when not to conform to social norms
- How did Patryk make his first cabin cash flow?
- Partnering up to do 4 deals in under 9 months
- How to use LinkedIn to find business owners

- Final advice: "Buy the deal, and the money will come"

Operations Mastery with Greg Devore

Operations Mastery with Greg Devore
How do you identify what knowledge you need in your business for your employees to work independently? How do you capture, maintain, and optimize that knowledge? And how do you know what's working and how to change what's not?
To answer these burning business owner questions we have Greg Devore, Owner and Co-Founder of Screen Steps, a company specializing in operational functionality for business owners.
Greg's talent lies in helping business owners articulate the difference between what they know versus what they (and their employees) actually do. Becoming a ‘Knowledge Investor’ holds the key to putting better systems in place and streamlining your operations.
In the modern remote working environment, it's not so easy to lean over into the next cubicle and ask a co-worker how to do something. Long Loom videos might be good to teach employees, but that's now going to work if they need to repeat a process and learn to take on a task independent of instruction.
How to create checklists, develop a decision tree, and turn your team meetings into problem-solving opportunities rather than a place to transmit information is the stuff of gold that Greg is advising on in this week's episode with our host Steve Class.
For businesses business dealing with complexity and change, scaling by increasing your work productivity is a surefire way to manage your success. Join us as we take Tribal Knowledge into the future!
"We've seen productivity more than double in employees when they start using these guides." ~ Greg DeVore
In This Episode:
- Unpacking tribal versus guided knowledge
- The 'Find and Follow' framework for increased productivity
- Learning to separate factual from foundational knowledge
- How Greg's process leads to increased work productivity
- The power of checklists (and how to use them correctly)
- Understanding your own company's 'Knowledge Information Platform'
- How many busy meetings are optimal?
